CITRA _Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Wine - Characteristics and origins
A red grape variety originating in Valle Peligna and the source of the region’s premiere wine, Abruzzo’s ambassador to the world, with DOC status dating back to 1968. Wine produced from this grape is rich in polyphenols with a good anthocyanin complement. The bouquet is intense and complex with floral (violet) and fruity (berries, stone fruits) overtones. It is harmonious and firmly structured to the palate with a long finish. With balanced, non-aggressive acidity, it is suited for medium to long ageing, which adds body and color.
Full-bodied, well-structured and softly tannic taste, with a persistent finish. Perfect with sauce-based first courses, roasts and mixed grills, game, spicy cold cuts
