CM4 IO Smart Shell is a kit specially designed for Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 IO Board. It can turn Compute Module 4 and IO Board into a commercial industrial computer for end applications.
One-button switch
The one-button switch controls the power on and off of the system through GPIO3 on the 40-pin connector and the software running on Compute Module 4, unlike traditional switches that only control the circuit by cutting off or turning on the hardware board power supply.
Cutting power while Compute Module 4 is running may corrupt the file system and cause a system crash.
2. Hardware protection
The shell is completely suitable for the mechanical structure of Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 IO Board, and all interfaces are led out of the shell. The metal case provides good shielding and protection for Compute Module 4 & IO Board.
3. The four nuts that fix
the bottom of the CM4 case can help securely fix the Compute Module 4 on the IO board and the case. Relying solely on the two 100-pin connectors between the Compute Module 4 and the IO board will make the connection unreliable in a vibrating environment.
There are four 1.5mm high black nylon washers on the four corners of the PCB to support the CM4. This feature prevents PCB deformation and circuit damage when the Compute Module 4 is screwed onto the IO board without something to support it.
