Jameson Black Barrel is a triple-distilled, twice charred, Irish Whiskey. Charring is an age-old method for invigorating barrels to intensify the taste. Jameson Black Barrel is a tribute to the coopers, who painstakingly give the bourbon barrels an additional charring to reveal its untold richness and complexity. Because every barrel contains secrets; the trick is coaxing them out.
Jameson Black Barrel is a blended Irish whiskey produced by the Irish Distillers subsidiary of Pernod Ricard. Originally one of the six main Dublin Whiskeys, Jameson is now distilled at the New Midleton Distillery in County Cork. Ireland-matured in a combination of American oak, sherry casks, and double charred (black) ex-bourbon barrels (from which it derived its name), Jameson Black Barrel is a smooth blend of small-batch grain and traditional Irish pot still whiskeys.
