There is a battle for the soul of Nigeria going on today. All other problems and issues about Nigeria hang on the outcome of this battle. Or to switch metaphors, no house built on a faulty foundation can stand. Nigeria was built on faulty foundation, intrigue and deception. Even at independence, these fault lines were deepened or exacerbated instead of expunged and eliminated.

This book is geared towards examining the above as well as calling for the creation of the appropriate political edifice or superstructure from which the numerous other problems facing Nigeria can begin to attract the needed attention. It focuses on the tactics for the aggregation and empowerment of progressive forces to do the needful by way of rescuing the country from the long entrenched misrule of the conservative faction of the Nigerian political class, which is itself under the sway of the traditional Fulani ruling class of the far-North and it's Caliphate that has remained a major clog on the wheel of progress and advancement of Nigeria.

The book also examines the context of dissension in Nigeria's body politic from the dying days of Nigeria's anti-colonial struggle to present day. The inter-play of forces that took the old Eastern Nigeria to secession and war, the conduct of that war, and the collapse of Biafra are analysed. The impact of the Nigeria-Biafra war and how it has been productive of the present status quo ante; its many flashpoints and the multiple challenges to constitutional order in Nigeria, are discussed.

The book exposes the fundamental problem of the Nigerian polity, which is the on-going battle between Feudalism and Egalitarianism for the soul of Nigeria. It argues that until this battle is settled and one of these - egalitarianism - leads the way, no real development can take root in Nigeria.

It analyses the Nigerian economy and suggest ways to enhance its development. Secondly, it puts forward what must be done to bring about national reconciliation in Nigeria and hence to stabilise the polity.
