The iPad Air 3 (2019) was initially introduced on March 18, 2019. The Air 3 model appeared to be the first time since 2014 for Apple to have presented a new iPad Air. Powered by an Apple A12 Bionic processor, the iPad Air 3 is configured with 3GB of RAM, its other remarkable features including the dual cameras, advanced connectivity features and microphones paired with a set of stereo speakers.
The iPad Air 3 presents an upgraded design in comparison to its iPad 9.7-inch predecessor, without, however, achieving the distinctive changes made to the Pro models. By shrinking the bezels around the device’s edge, and that way enabling a larger screen-to-body ratio, a bigger display is offered in the new iPad. The 2019 Air model retails the Home button, unlike the 2018 Pro models, and abandons the newer Face ID in favor of the trusted Touch ID. The iPad Air 3 is also configured with the headphone port.
The iPad Air 3 is available in the iPad’s usual configurations of Silver, Gold and Space Grey.

The 10.5 inch iPad Air from Apple, updated from the same one you know and love, features a few improvements to provide you with a better experience. The previous A10 Fusion chip is replaced with the A12 Bionic chip, which is more powerful and supports Neural Engine machine learning. Its 9.7 inch Retina display now measures 10.5 inch with a 500 cd m brightness rating, a 2224 x 1668 resolution, wide color coverage, True Tone technology, and an anti-glare coating. Lastly, for all content creators, the iPad Air now supports the first-generation Apple Pencil, so you can write and draw freely. Other integrated features include its front 7MP FaceTime HD camera, 8MP rear camera, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
As its name implies, the 2019 iPad Air is light and thin tablet for everyday use. However, it does pack a punch thanks to the Apple A12 chip inside it - the same found in the iPhone XS and XS Max. Among its key selling points are the support for the Apple Pencil (1st generation) and for the Apple Smart Keyboard cover. The 10.5-inch display supports Wide Colors and Apple's True Tone technology but lacks the higher, 120Hz refresh rate of ProMotion. Face ID is also missing, but you do get Apple's Touch ID fingerprint reader for user authentication.
