MEDIHONEY® is an advanced wound care dressing with clinical ability to promote the removal of necrotic tissue and advance a wound toward healing.
MEDIHONEY® is a special type of honey indigenous to New Zealand, called active Leptospermum Honey. This honey has been shown to have unique properties that are advantageous to wound healing, including a low ph and high osmolality. This component helps decrease the ph levels of wound and increases the body's ability to transport oxygen to the site. MEDIHONEY® is augmented with vegetable gelling agents for a more viscous formulation which ensures greater stability. MEDIHONEY® is useful for treating burn wounds, chronic wounds, stalled or Stubborn wounds and sores. It helps the healing process move faster by at least 30% and relieves pain even quicker, cleanses and debrides.
MEDIHONEY® is qualified to heal a number of skin lesions:
