Skylanders: SuperChargers is a video game developed by and and published by . It was released on September 20, 2015, for , , , , , and was released on October 18, 2015, for . Skylanders: SuperChargers Racing was released as a standalone title for and the on the same date, and it features only the racing portion. The game is the fifth installment of the series. It introduces vehicles for the first time in the series. A sequel to SuperChargers, , was released in October 2016. GameplaySimilar to its predecessors, Skylanders: SuperChargers is a "toy-to-life" video game in which players can place toy figurines on the "Portal of Power", which allows players to play as the figurine-represented character in-game. The game introduces a redesigned "Portal of Power", in which the surface has become larger and wider so as to accommodate vehicles, which are of larger size than typical characters. Vehicles are one of the newly introduced features in SuperChargers. According to Activision, about 50% of the game must be completed through driving. Vehicles are divided into three classes, which include land vehicles, sea vehicles and sky vehicles. With the use of ground vehicles and water vehicles, players can race on land or dive underwater on several different tracks, while the sky vehicles feature an "autopilot system" which can guide players to their destination automatically. Players have the option to accelerate and decelerate the sky vehicles. Each track is filled with obstacles, which players must evade, and each has its own alternate routes, which can help a player to reach the finish line faster. Players must defeat a before they reach the finish line and they must solve a puzzle before they proceed. Players can also collect parts for vehicles to upgrade them. A customization screen automatically opens up after the player collects a part. The player can also choose to purchase mods to upgrade the vehicle via an in-game currency called "Gearbits", which can be earned through completing missions and stages. Each character has their own matching vehicles, and once the player finds out the correct combination, the character will enter a "Supercharged" state, which grants the vehicle additional abilities. The 117 characters introduced in the series since are still playable in SuperChargers, but the game only includes 20 new figurines, due to the inclusion of vehicles. Returning characters, such as Stealth Elf and Trigger Happy are re-imagined with new abilities and a new upgrade tree. Destiny: The Taken King is a major expansion for Bungie's first-person shooter, Destiny. Released on September 15, 2015, as the third expansion of Destiny, it revolves around Oryx, The Taken King and his plot for revenge after players slew his son Crota in Destiny's first downloadable content (DLC) pack, The Dark Below. Players must face the "Taken", Oryx's army of corrupted aliens forced to fight for him. Skylanders: Imaginators is a toys-to-life 3D platformer video game developed by Toys for Bob and published by Activision. A successor to Skylanders: SuperChargers, it was released for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii U, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. For the first time in the series, players can create their own characters, known as Imaginators. The game received generally positive reviews but the title's sales were below Activision's expectations. It is the sixth and most recent Skylanders game released on consoles. Similar to its predecessors, the core gameplay revolves around solving puzzles, platforming, and fighting enemies. These new parts can be used to customize the player's existing Imaginators, which can be modified at any timeCreation Crystals are where the Imaginators are stored. With the crystal, players can transport their custom Imaginatiors to all video game consoles the game is released for. In addition to Imaginators, the game also adds 31 more typical Skylanders into the game. These new characters are called "Senseis", and they are extremely powerful, as they are extremely refined in their respective classes. 11 of these Senseis are villains who had appeared in previous Skylanders games.
