First Bordeaux Superieur from Raguenot and what a one!
The wine is made from 60% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Carménère and 10% Malbec. The grapes are hand-sorted upon arrival at the farm, after which the wine temperature ferments at 28-30 degrees, as well as another 15-25 days of maceration. The ageing of the wine takes place in oak barrels for 6 months where 50% are new casks and 50% are used casks.
This is the first Bordeaux Superiore that Vignobles Raguenot has produced, and the quality is top notch. They have agreed to produce a wine with more deep and dark fruit than is often found in Bordeaux, and the result is perfect.
More rich and dark taste
A nice dark red color in the glass. The aroma is intense with fresh red and black fruits, with hints of vanilla and spices such as pepper. In taste, it is a powerful wine with good tanins that give the wine great balance, lots of fruity notes and many layers of nuances that complete the wine. The aftertaste is long and persistent.
Serve the wine at 18-19 degrees and preferably it for game, red meat, or for grilling the food. Give the wine an hour of air before serving, or store it for a few more years in the cellar for an even greater tasting experience.
